There are some memes that just NEVER get old, and Star Wars memes(whether they're prequel or sequel memes) definitely fall into that category. These examples are particularly dank, with some extra fresh memes mixed in. Chances are that even if you're not the nerdiest fan, there will be more than a few jokes for you to chuckle at.
Over the weekend Rogue One: A Star Wars Story debuted to $290.5 million box office take. And yet, with a unicycle and a little fire, this Darth Vader made arguably a better movie.
Portland’s own Unipiper emerged last week to show off some more flaming bagpipes. Well, he’s back. Here we see Darth Vader unicycling the snow planet of Hoth. The flames are to protect him from the cold, so he doesn’t have to cut open a tauntaun.
Anakin Skywalker was initially set to make an appearance as a ghost in The Force Awakens, but he didn't make the final cut. Maybe it's because he looked so, so creepy.
Why the two-face treatment? According to artist Iain McCaig, it's because Anakin's got both good and evil natures inside him:
When you light a candle, you also cast a shadow. That inspired me to propose, for the first time, that Anakin’s ghost could come back … If we see Anakin Skywalker, because he does flow back and forth between Darth Vader and Anakin, let’s see him as a character with a dark and light side. The reason Luke is this whole new entity is because he was the first to acknowledge his own dark side — that it was not separate from him.
It's unclear what part of the film Anakin could have appeared in, but it's likely he'd either have appeared to Kylo Ren, or alongside other series veterans in Rey's Force vision.
Welcome to the dark side… of politics.
Viktor Shevchenko, a former electrician - turned sith lord - turned political candidate, was not allowed to vote in Ukraine's parliamentary election on Sunday, due to the fact that he refused to remove his helmet.
Schevchenko, who legally changed his name to Darth Vader prior to the elections, said he "would die if he took his helmet off," according to ABC News.
He arrived at the polling station standing atop a large black van blasting the Imperial March.
Vader was running in the Ukraine's Internet Party, with promises to turn the Ukraine into a "galactic empire" and build a military space station "that will protect the whole territory of Ukraine."
Radio Svoboda reports that Vader already holds a position as chairman of the Internet Party of Ukraine, first established in 2007, and has filed the necessary paperwork with the country's Central Election Commission to appear on the ballot in a special election to be held on May 25. He's also made the required and hefty financial deposit of 2.5 million Ukrainian hryvnia ($225,225), which suggests this is more than an irreverent prank.
What do you think about all of this? A full on prank?
In celebrating the latest addition to its already legendary line-up, Disneyland presents a timely promotional video starring Darth Vader.
