Sydney Sea Life Aquarium said penguin dads Sphen and Magic, who were given an egg to incubate, are "in love" with baby Sphengic, who was born weighing in at 91g (3.2oz). Sooo Cute!
For 55 years, the Natural History Museum in London has run annual competitions for wildlife photography, and the finalists for the 2019 competition have just been announced. These photos of wild animals in their natural habitat are truly breathtaking, as are the skills of the photographers. Out of 50,000 entries, this collection of photographs made it to the finals - and we can see why!
Animals are cute and funny; we can all agree on this, right? Good. Now we've gotten that out of the way, here are the winning photos for a competition for the funniest animals. I don't know how long the photographers had to wait to capture these moments, but the waiting certainly paid off because these photos are the best thing you'll see all year.
Penguins aren't exactly formidable creatures, are they? Although Emperor penguins can reach up to 4 feet 2 inches, they always seem super friendly and cute. Now imagine a penguin the same height as you. That changes things. Penguins the size of humans... the idea sounds like it comes from science fiction. But it actually just comes from science. It was recently discovered that giant penguins used to exist. We are not kidding.
It's an exciting time for Skipper and Ping, two male Emperor penguins who live at the Berlin zoo. They have been longing for an egg of their own and now, they finally have one. This is by no means the only gay penguin - or animal - couple in the world, but that doesn't make their story any less special. Here it is.
A group of scientists have been trying to study penguins without disturbing them, and they may have found the cutest way possible of doing it: rovers disguised as baby penguins. These penguin-bots are able to get close to the penguins without raising the alarm or stressing out the penguins, which will allow scientists to collect data about them in their most natural state.
Three Australian bros decided it was a good idea to get so blackout drunk, they woke up with a penguin that they stole from Sea World in their hotel. So as to prove their outright defiance against rules, their livers, and common sense, they also taped everything. Whether or not they were able to get Mike Tyson to make a cameo has not been reported.
