Most of us have a decent idea of how jokes work, or we are at least somewhat adept of seeing the signs of when something is a joke. It would be rough walking around this world just thinking everyone is stupid and wrong all the time. To further confuse the literal minded, here are some technically accurate moments that aren't wrong. And for some straight up dumbness, here are some facepalm moments from humanity's beacons of stupid.

Self improvement is a noble pursuit, and all of us could use some advice here and there to help us live our lives better. Wherever that advice is, it won't be found here. These are all just dumb and bad life pro tips to not do. Maybe you'll get some directions on how to alienate your friends or make your life worse, but that's where the fun is.

We've all seen those insane college dorm room transformations floating around the internet now that we're in back-to-school season - you know, where a college student supposedly converts a hideous tiny dorm room into a gorgeous space that looks fit for a Kardashian. Well, people on the internet have started to roast these "transformations" and call them out for being fake, because let's be honest...what college student realistically has the time or money for that?

Donald Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen made headlines on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including violations of campaign finance rules, and the paying off of two women (including Stormy Daniels) with whom Trump had affairs. The latter took place under the direction of Trump himself, according to Cohen's lawyer, Lanny Davis.

Cohen could serve up to five years in prison under his plea agreement.

JK Rowling, the queen of drawing out random details of the Harry Potter franchise, is back in the limelight for, well...drawing out random details of the Harry Potter franchise - details that absolutely no one asked for, of course. 

She told Radio Times last week that Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald had an "intense and passionate" relationship that had a "sexual dimension to it." Of course, her actual statements got twisted in subsequent reports, but the roasts and parody tweets that have come from it are absolutely still valid!

"Every Straight Girl on this Site" is a tweet that refers to women who have positive qualities who date men with negative qualities. The original tweet was specifically about women who live in beautiful apartments dating men who sleep on a dirty, disgusting mattress on the floor. People on Twitter have since begun exaggerating the scenarios into complete satire, resulting in hilarity.

Remember to check your sources, or you might end up like one of these doofuses, getting mad over something that you didn't even realize was a joke.
