HoboJacket is a "competitive platform where you can donate your rival college's jackets and shirts to the unfortunate because it's terribly unfortunate that people actually went to that other college." The winter coat drive project was conceived by Massachusetts Institute of Technology student Jin Pan. For more deets, check out the interview with Pan over at The Daily Dot.

New York University sophomore student Max Wiseltier started a wildfire of lulz yesterday when he accidentally hit "reply all" to a school-wide bulletin e-mail that was only meant to be forwarded to his mother. Triggered by the University's archaic Listerv system, Wiseltier's message was sent to nearly 40,000 other students in the mailing list, many of whom didn't hesitate to have a little fun with their discovery of the "reply all" feature. This is probably the best. If he doesn't mention your major, you're probably better off.

Republican legislator Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC), cares nothing for your student loans because you don't need to borrow money for higher education. To wit (from Foxx herself): "I have very little tolerance for people who tell me that they graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt because there's no reason for that. We live in an opportunity society and people are forgetting that."

So if we've learned anything from Republicans this election year, it's [insert controversial statement about birth control here] and they don't want to pay for your education, so get a job and pay for it yourself.
