Bea Arthur, everyone's favorite Golden Girl Grandma continues to "Mom" us through the legacy of her will. A longtime supporter of the Ali Forney Center for LGBTI youth in New York City's East Village, she left $300,000 in her will to support it. The Bea Arthur Residence will open in Feb 2017, giving hope, counseling, shelter, and a safe place with 18 rooms for LGBTI youth. Though she died in 2009, she'll always be a hero to LGBTI youth everywhere.

Nicole Sedgebeer found herself stranded in London after missing the last train home. She didn't know what to do (besides burst into tears) until a homeless man named Mark helped her out. 

She explains on her Facebook post that she never expected someone like Mark to come to her aide:

I hope this story makes people look twice when they see a homeless person. Last night I missed my last train home and when I finally got to Euston to wait till the morning, the station was locked. Just as I was about to burst into drunken tears I met my homeless friend Mark. He said he would take me to a cafe that was open as it was too dangerous to walk by myself. He left me after a coffee and a chat and explained that he had to go get his sleeping bag but he would be back at 5 to walk me back to the station. (Me being a typical bitch didn't believe he would come back) It got past 5 and he was a no show. As I got round the corner my homeless friend Mark was running down the street towards me. Not only did he turn up but he had to get a bus to come get me. This man who I probably would of avoided eye contact with if he asked for spare change, completely changed such a negative event into the most eye opening event in my life. Mark you are one special man, I will never look down on a homeless person again ❤ This was also his first ever selfie!

This McDonald's employee definitely wasn't lovin' it.

The company told reporters Wednesday that an employee captured in a video luring a homeless man to the drive-through window in Detroit with a hamburger, and then throwing water in his face, has been fired.

"Hey, Willie. Come here. You want a sandwich?" the unnamed employee can be heard yelling before throwing the cup of water.

McDonald's franchisee Wise Finley said he was disturbed by the "inappropriate" incident and took action to fire the employee.

"This type of behavior is not tolerated in my organization. I expect my employees to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and this was unacceptable," Finley told the Detroit Free Press.

Alas, poor unidentified person. We never knew you well.

Local Florida news station WPBF reported on a homeless man who had a very unconventional way to uncover a dead body.

Nick Pecoraro works at a strip mall in Sebastian, Florida. One day he saw a homeless man walking around the parking lot, using a skull like a "puppet". The man was talking to it and talking to people with it. Pecoraro said he thought it was fake until he got up close.



Nope. Real.

He immediately call the police.

According to WPBF:

Indian River County Sheriff's Office spokesman Thomas Raulen said the skull was part human remains discovered in a wooded area near U.S. 1 and Roseland Road.

Raulen said the unidentified homeless man had been living in the wooded area when he stumbled upon the skeletal remains near a path. "He had put the skull on top of a trash can over there because he wanted to tell somebody to call the Sheriff's Office," insisted Raulen Tuesday.

Raulen said the man willingly led investigators to scene.

...Investigators said its too early to tell the cause of death or the gender of the victim.

It's like Florida has an unending bet with itself to commit the most novel, unexpected crimes.

That seems to be this complicated case, in which one extremely protective grandmother tried to contract an ex-in law to murder a homeless man who was dating her daughter.

Also lice was involved.

According to Gawker:

Pamela Vanorsdale, 50, allegedly called her daughter's ex-husband last Thursday and asked him to "pop" the homeless man, 22-year-old Dylan Loveless, in the head and chest. Loveless had apparently been abusive to Vanorsdale's grandchildren, choking and chasing them, but when the kids came home with lice, that was the last straw.

The ex told police about her alleged attempt to hire him as a hitman, but she claimed she was "only joking." Some of the things she was only joking about allegedly included: being able to provide the prospective hitman with a gun, wanting Loveless shot "in the head and chest," being able to clean and dispose of the gun, and wanting the body dumped in South Carolina. She also "joked" that she could lure Loveless out of his homeless camp with the promise of work.

Prankster Josh Paler Lin gave $100 to a homeless man on the street, but it wasn't just a random act of kindness. He wanted to know exactly what he would do with the money and capture it on film.

Next thing you know, the guy is walking into a liquor store. But what he buys will surprise you and probably bring a tear to your eye.

"I wasn't expecting to get this kind of footage," he writes in the caption. "To be honest, I thought this video would be more an exposing homeless people video at first. But I'm so glad that I could witness and capture such a beautiful moment."

Badu's music has been her quite famous and wealthy over the years, so in order to "see what it's like" having to beg on the streets might require a little more than that.

When Jimmy Fallon announced that the pop star had won the Video of the Year award for her hit song, "Wrecking Ball," Cyrus passed up the chance to thank her producers and managers for helping her achieve her goals. Instead, she sent up a former homeless teen to deliver a short speech intended to raise awareness about the issue of homeless youth.

'I have survived in shelters all over this city,' Jesse, Cyrus' proxy, said, describing his experience as one of the 1.6 million homeless young people in the United States. 'I've cleaned your hotel rooms, I've been an extra in your movies. I've been an extra in your life. Though may have been invisible to you on the streets I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight.'
