Marouane Fellaini Gets Hit In The Face, Becomes Epic Photoshop Meme

It's been a good year for soccer memes. Earlier this week, a goofy photo of Marouane Fellaini being hit in the face by a soccer ball began circulating on the internet. The high quality photo, which shows the Manchester United player's face looking all kinds of contorted, was just begging to get the Photoshop meme treatment.

While this meme may not reach Ronaldo meme levels, the internet has certainly come through. Even better? Fellaini has a sense of humorabout the situation - he actually tweeted the photo and thanked the fans who had been roasting him. We all have to laugh at ourselves sometimes.

What can really be said about a flub like this?

It’s bad, real bad.

In the future, the flub will probably be put into gif form and used as shorthand to express grief over the failure of a sure thing.

As Deadspin put it “This is not hyperbole.” This might be the worst shot ever taken. This player from a “Serbian lower league” misses an open goal from, like, an inch away. It's hard to watch.

With one week to go until the Premier League season kicks off, Liverpool fans were celebrating their team's 4-0 win over Luis Suarez's Barcelona at Wembley Stadium.

But it's the interview afterwards that made headlines. During the post-match press conference, LIverpool's trainer Jurgen Klopp refused to answer questions from a journalist of The Sun.

Liverpool's relationship with The Sun has been strained since the paper's reporting of the Hillsborough tragedy in which 96 Liverpool fans were killed as a result of negligence by the South West Yorkshire Police.

Higuain went from hero to zero after completing the world's third most expensive transfer to join Napoli's rivals in a move that has underlined his quest for success, yet prompted swift criticism.

Higuain was feted as the King of Napoli only two months ago when he broke Gunnar Nordahl's 66-year-old record of 35 goals in a single Serie A season as the Azzurri battled Juve for a title they last won in 1990.

What happened after Portugal defeated France is epic. A French fan was overcome by grief (yeah, that happens - real fans do cry). A young Portuguese boy went up to him and consoled the crying Frenchman. He responded by giving the boy a high five and a big hug. Awww!

This adorable kid was such a fan of Argentine soccer player, Lionel Messi, that he made his own jersey out of a trash bag and marker. An image of him went viral as people spread the word to help him get his own actual Messi jersey.

Thanks to the Afghanistan Football Federation and UNICEF, he finally got a real jersey, signed by Messi.

UNICEF wrote in their Facebook post that it's important to bring hope to kids through sports:

The right to play and practice sports promotes the well-being of all children, especially the most vulnerable trapped in emergencies around the world.

Two men, Herbert-Gumbs and Mark Soto were arrested with enough blow last Thursday to frost a fu**ing ski slope—136 pounds to be exact. According to drug prosecutors the drugs seized could've been resold for as much as 3 million dollars.

Perhaps even more shocking than the sheer amount of cocaine discovered, was the decision by the two crooks to stamp some their product with "Messi," as a shoutout to their favorite famous Argentinian soccer player.

Herbert-Gumbs and Mark Soto each face four felony drug possession charges that combined could clock out at 100 years in prison.

Bayern Munich was down 0-1 in the half facing rivals Wolfsburg Sept. 22. Then they subbed in Robert Lewandowski.

The striker and captain of the Poland national team wasted no time in turning the tide. He scored five incredible, separately interesting goals in only 15 minutes of play.

It was nuts.

The last was the prettiest one of the bunch:

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola could not believe it.

Go sports.
